THE STAR

Companies sell stars that if you buy one you can give it a name and you will receive a certificate with the name and where to locate it in the sky. You can go out at night and follow your star. The numbers of stars are infinitesimal, I believe that you could just point toward the sky and say: “That is my star”.

How many of us have a hidden star? Hollywood has commercialized this word to the point that there are many stars in Hollywood. How many posters are sold of individuals that are idolized by others? They follow their star. There is place in Hollywood, CA that sidewalks are filled with individual names with a star on them. People follow their star and take pictures with them.

Following a star isn’t new. The Bible tells us in Matthew 2:1,2 “1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem

2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”   Three educated and intellectual astronomers from the East had left everything to follow a star. The gift of knowing the difference of this star was God given. They studied the stars from different countries, background and were brought together by a star. The beauty of this is that it wasn’t just any star from Hollywood, the Magi said: “has been born king of the Jews”. Jesus Christ was born to be a star! He was destined to be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! The Star of the morning was given unto us with the purpose to worship Him. During this time of Christmas season let us find the time to worship Jesus. If we follow the true star and worship Him we will not only fulfill with the Scripture but we also see in Matthew 2:10 “10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.” When you set your eyes only on Jesus and not in what you don’t have or cant do, you will be overjoyed. Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will start to worship Him. Once you start to worship Him you will take your eyes of the circumstances that surround you and His love, peace and strength will fill you. You will be overjoyed! Imagine the difference of an overjoyed person. During this season be happy, smile, let joy fill you up. Overflow with JOY!

THE GIFT GOES ON

There is this Christmas song that is title: “The Gift Goes On”. We used to sing it every Christmas in our Church Annual Christmas Banquet. We stopped singing it because of other entertainment features that were brought up. But truly “The Gift Goes On” never ceases. No matter where you live, what culture you have, your social status; all of us have a part of this Gift.
The Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 9:15 “15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” This gift has continued going for almost 2000 years. Just as a child who gets excited with a gift, a teenager who acts as if he doesn’t care but wants to be part of it or an adult that one way or another finds the way to share with family gifts. This indescribable gift is not an object nor finance, he is a human being. But not just any man, he is the begotten Son of God. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
This gift goes on! It’s one that will give you peace in midst of trails and tribulation; will give you strength when life gives you only despair and will give you a light to follow when you are surrounded by darkness. It will continue going forward as you share this gift with those that need a hand, with those that need a smile, with those that need that peace of mind and with those that have that gift but have failed to continue passing it on.
The gift goes on, as you share not about what you are going to buy to give away or what you expect for this coming Christmas but the true message of Christmas. Mat 1:21 “21 she will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Share this gift: the forgiveness of sin, found in this gift, the Son of God, the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

REMEMBERING YOUR TIME FOR GOD

In everyday life it can become easy to forget to give personal time to God. Whether it is keeping up with your daily schedule, focusing on your career, or even focusing on your ministry! We are all guilty in giving God the time we need to give in order for us to build a relationship with God and allow him to strengthen us.

When you look in Mathew 1:35 you read

35Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

This verse speaks on the alone time He spent with the father and what makes this alone time even stronger is when you continue on to read on

36Simon and his companions went to look for him, 37and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!”

Right here we just learned not only was Jesus giving his alone time to the father, but he was giving his alone time right in the middle of his ministry! What we need to realize is that when is comes to our ministry the mission that we are on to spread the word of Christ is not something we can do on our own, but done through the spirit within us.
